I have gained 25-30 pounds since being on Ven. one year this month.  Has anyone else gained all this weight? What can a person do to lose it. I have never weighed this much in my life and this alone is very DEPRESSING to me. Help

Yes I have the same issue and feeling the same. I’ve gone from being 10stone to 14 stone. I would be interested to see if it’s the same for others. I also put it down to not being baotheref to go to the gym as the tablets make me so laid back I don’t have the inclination to go

yes I've gained weight and I hate it. I've bought a prescription drug called mysimba which is an appetite suppressant for £130 and am taking that. it's week two and you have to slowly increase the dose week on week. I'm seeing my doctor on Tuesday who doesn't know yet what I'm doing. mysimba has an antidepressant in it which could affect my Venlafaxine so I need to have that conversation. I'm not gonna stop taking them cause I want to lose this weight so I might just need to reduce or stop my Venlafaxine for a few weeks. will find out on Tuesday.

Weight gain is part and parcel of taking an antidepressant it seems. Yes it’s a bummer. But I think the same goes for being depressed full stop.

No more eating the kids left overs. No more buying rubbish food.

We need to be kind to ourselves and do our best to eat healthy. Maybe take more walks. As hard as it is, we need to make changes for the good of our health and well being.

I just read that back ... who am I kidding?!! 🤪

I have gained a lot of weight on Venlofaxine but without it I get very depressed so you have to weigh up what is the best for you.

Hi, yes, I gained just about the same amount, which I carried for between 3 and 4 years. I'd always been underweight to that point. After this period I lost about 12 pounds and remained stable at that for close to a decade even though I came off the med after 6 or 7 years.
