has anybody else gained weight on the estrogen patch ? i have mono ebv virus and its either that or the patch . whatever it is i cant stand it my stomach hurts its so big ! so any opinions greatly appreciated ! plus with the ebv and mono i have no appetite so i dont get it ?????

yes I was on the estradiol patch 1.0 and progestone 200 mg per day an my breast got so big I WAS A C cup and i couldnt fit in a double D CUP. AND MY STOMACH SWELLED UP SO MUCH IT HURTS. I discontinue it because it scared me. I WAS FRUSTRATED because I ate less and I still kept blowing up. i finally got fed up last month and just stop taking it. NOW the hot flashes are back. The bloating is going down. I dont know what to tell you but it I am going back to my gyn and try to find a solution.

thank you ! somebody else has this ! gosh thats exactly how i am ! how long were you on the patch before you ripped it off ?
i cant believe after 5 months i just blew up in the last month and can i ask how long for your stomach to go down ?
im on .5 mg so thats half of what you were on ? im going to cut it in half and wean off it .or at least see if 1/2 the dose will help stomach go down.
gosh nothing works the way it should its all so complicated !

YES I know , my best friend had the same weight gain. and the thing is I WAS ALWays thin until menapause . i was on the patches 18 months they increased the dosage because the hotflashes were dilbilertanting. I was losing my mind. 4 months ago when I noticed how big my stomach was i asked my gyn what is going on and she said was the hrt causing the weight gain. WHEN I couldnt find a bra to fit me and my clothes were too tight i ripped off the patches and stop taking the pill . It has been 1 month and my bra fits again and my stomach is slowly deflating. I HAVE a long way to go but at least i am not going in the wrong direction any more. I have hot flashes again but I cant stand being so bloated. I AM going to see my gyn there has to be a better way. GOOD LUCK! You are not alone.

well keep in touch and let me know ...i lm on the vivelle dot . surely there has to be something that doesnt bloat you like that ? thank god for this forum i had an idea it was that as ive never been this fat .
one thing that it has done is keep my skin glowing ... its really lovely but not worth it .
