Weight gain on Sertraline - has anyone gained and been able to lose weight?

Hello, I have gained a stone since taking sertraline :-( This is quite depressing in itself. My diet hadn't changed and I've never done as much exercise as I'm doing now!

What I'd like to know is has anyone else gained weight whilst taking sertraline?

Has anyone gained and been able to lose weight whilst still on sertraline?

I am currently weaning off it slowly but envisage I'll be on it until the end of Sep. Currently on 25mg from 50mg a day.

Thanks in advance x

Oh Yes I gained 30 lbs. it's very depressing, I'm in the process of trying to lose it, not easy! I'm walking 5km three times per week, so it is coming off slowly.

I was on up to 150 mg for a year. The side effects were too much. I never felt well on it.

I tapered slowly coming off in Dec. I'm still enduring withdrawl symptoms after 8 months of being off the drug. It was not a pleasant experience.

I wish you well on your taper and weight loss.

Hiya, I've never been this heavy either - only when I was pregnant!

I just feel everything I've done eating and exercise wise does nothing and I keep gaining.

I'm hoping when I'm fully off them I should be able to lose the weight easily - fingers crossed!

I'm guessing either some people, like us, put weight on with sertraline and it's almost impossible to lose whilst still on them :-(
