Has anyone gained weight from antihistamines and xolair shots.. I have awful joint pain, hair loss, and a rapid weight gain.. like 7 lbs in two weeks.. But the hives are a lot less but at what cost with all these drugs.. any one out there experience this?? What did you do ??

Try a different drug. Herbal or prescribed. You need to try another drug.

Nothing worked except prednisone which has way worse side effects.. I have been on xolair about 6 years now every month.. all has settled down ..I have not gotten the hives while on this shot.. I do itch now and then so then i take hydrozine if that happens.. I wont go off the xolair as i have heard of ppl doing that the hives come back with a vengence and then the shot no longer works. I do however have other autoimmine diseases that contributed to my weight gain .. my thyroid is one.. and they say that can cause hives.. so I m happy with my xolair shots as no more hives which were horrible.
