Weight Gain With Livial 2.5 mg

Hi,

I have been on Livial 2.5mg for two months now. The first month I did not see any improvement from my symtoms, but this months things are starting to improve.

My big concern here is I have put on nearly one stone in weight, this is a little scary in such a short time.

I would love to know if anyone else is having the same problems.

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth, I have been on Livial for over 20 yrs.  I'm 69 and have never had any side effects or weight gain (except from eating too much). I was initially put on a contraceptive pill to help with menopausal symptoms at around the age of 51, then was put on Livial 2.5 mg. Within three or four days the improvement was amazing and although I have tried to come off them twice - due to scare reports by so called 'experts' - I returned to taking them and feel wonderful. If I were you I would have a chat with your doctor. There are so many different kinds of HRT so maybe another would suit you better.

Hi Ladypink, many thanks for your reply.I think I may just have a chat with my gp, just in case my weight gainis unrelated to Livial. So happy to hear that you have found the one that suits you.

Dear Elizabeth, Hope you find one that's suitable for YOU.  Don't give up on HRT as I have found being on it makes you feel marvellous. I personally think the advantages far outweigh the risks, so long as you keep up with all your routine checks. Should any problems occur they are soon picked up on. All the best.

Hi,I am a new starter and only just on 3 weeks. The hot flushes are still coming but less often and less fierce.  I am getting more sleep - I was originally waking every half hour or so.  I deliberately lost weight before commencing the medication.  I have changed my diet and lost 9 kilos and so far am maintaining this loss.  I am still hopeful that as time goes on I will feel more benefits.
