Has anyone managed to lose any of the weight we all seem to have gained since diagnosis? Or am I destined to be Mrs Blobby forever? xx

I did try to lose weight using my wii and was doing so well, but my pains got the better of me and so the weight went back on. I also started zumba but had to give that up too. So now I eating healthy and walking everyday and staying calm and positive so I'm hoping the weight will adjust itself in due course. x

I really like the honesty of everyone on this site,
Reading this this morning has made me smile,
I'm not that big but about a stone heavier than I'd like to be which is a lot I suppose when your only 5ft 2ins and small framed,
I'm now gluten free and feel a lot better as my belly arms and legs have stopped swelling up, but although I eat healthily I can't shift my extra weight,
My granddaughter has persuaded me to go to a kettle class with her next Tuesday so watch this space, if I don't return you'll know she has killed me off 😃
Keep up some form of activity girls it's good for the mind although our bodies don't like it.
Gentle hugs to you all.
If you hurt after rub magnesium spray oil on your joints it's very good x

Whilst I realise what works for me won't work for everyone, this is what I do in a typical day:
Breakfast: Bacon, Eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms (minimal fat, I cut it off the bacon and use a little coconut oil to fry the eggs)
Lunch: Salad, mostly greens, with tuna / chicken / ham / low fat soft cheese
Dinner: 75g brown rice or medium potato, with fish / pork / chicken / <5% fat mince and plenty of veg
snacks: fruit or veg sticks, plus a couple of squares of dark choc / very small piece of cake - something to keep my sweet tooth happy - i'm very fussy nowadays and will only put in things that are high in sugar or fat if i really, really like them!
hope that's helpful. i've had many years of thinking that i had to put up with the weight, but with some major determination, lots of prayer (necessary for me!) - and cutting back in small steps until i was eating what i wanted to be eating - i seem to be more in control of it. fat="" mince="" and="" plenty="" of="" veg="" snacks:="" fruit="" or="" veg="" sticks,="" plus="" a="" couple="" of="" squares="" of="" dark="" choc="" very="" small="" piece="" of="" cake="" -="" something="" to="" keep="" my="" sweet="" tooth="" happy="" -="" i'm="" very="" fussy="" nowadays="" and="" will="" only="" put="" in="" things="" that="" are="" high="" in="" sugar="" or="" fat="" if="" i="" really,="" really="" like="" them!="" hope="" that's="" helpful.="" i've="" had="" many="" years="" of="" thinking="" that="" i="" had="" to="" put="" up="" with="" the="" weight,="" but="" with="" some="" major="" determination,="" lots="" of="" prayer="" (necessary="" for="" me!)="" -="" and="" cutting="" back="" in="" small="" steps="" until="" i="" was="" eating="" what="" i="" wanted="" to="" be="" eating="" -="" i="" seem="" to="" be="" more="" in="" control="" of="">5% fat mince and plenty of veg

I was only diagnosed this past Oct & have always been extremely active. There have days, I have drag myself to exercise but after I always feel better & my body movement are so much easier. All my drs have said, you have to keep a routine for your physical & mental well being...All I can say is try to team up w/ a GF & you both can keep each other motivated !!!

I put on a massive 7 stone over a 2 year period following prolapsing a disc, the start of my rheumy problems and then Fibro.
I went from being ultra active, walking to work every day, hiking at the weekends, playing with the kids to nothing in the space of 6 months.
Last year I started to try and lose weight with Weight Watchers through my GP as they were saying the massive weight gain really wasn't helping my joints (I knew that but how do you exercise when you can barely stand up)
I gave up on Weight Watchers as it annoyed me that after 6 weeks I'd lost nothing and the leader was saying I was doing something wrong as EVERYONE loses weight on the points diet.
I decided to do a detox and drop my medication for 10 days just to kick start my metabolism and try and rid the toxins building up from constant medication. I used an Aloe Gel detox and lost 15lbs in 10 days!
I then went on to lose another 2 stone over the summer just by watching my intake, cutting out the sugars and wheat etc.
I've been quiet ill since September so my weight loss stalled but I'm glad to say I've only put on 4lbs and I'm still immobile most days. I'm still Mrs Blobby (more so because I'm covered in Uriticaria/angiodema swelling most days - another fab illness) and I have probably another 5 stone to go to be the weight to height ideal but to be honest I haven't been that weight since my 20's so I'm not killing myself to get there.
Most of my medication are known for weight gain so I'm just taking one day at a time and try not to beat myself up for the odd chocolate bar!
