Weight loss and left sided pain

I have been diagnosed with a low functioning gallbladder, HIDA came back at 33% ejection fraction.  For the past month I have been dealing with constant right sided pain, not bad but annoying, and know that it is due to the gallbladder not working right.  Now however I am dealing with new symptoms and getting worried.  My left side has started to hurt (almost a mirror image and pain as my right side) and I've started to lose weight (about 5 pounds in the last week and a half).  I have not been trying to lose weight, and really haven't changed my diet any since the attacks aren't horrific.  Are these also symptoms of gallbladder problems?  I had a blood test that came back clean on liver enzymes as well as an abdominal ultrasound that came clean (except for the pancreas which they just couldn't see clearly).  I am starting to get worried that it might be something worse, although I am only 36 and there is NO cancer in my family background, nor do I smoke or drink, although I am mildly obese (about 30 pounds overweight)

I suggest that you get back to your doctor as soon as possible and let him or her know you're getting left hand pain with unexplained weight loss and get an appointment to get in there to get your pancreas checked.  A dysfunctional gallbladder affects your entire digestive system.

I'm going to see the general surgeon tomorrow for a consultation and I've put in a call to my PCP.  I'm waiting on the call back from the PCP and hopefully the general surgeon will do something as well.

It sounds like your pancreas may be affected. Do you have gallstones as well as a low functioning gallbladder? If so, could be a stone has migrated and is blocking your pancreas. The weight loss is strange however if you've not changed your diet or been eating less. Whatever is causing this pain, don't you think it's wise to have it properly investigated. The sooner it gets sorted, the quicker you can get on with your life.

I do not have gallstones, so I know that they can't be the problem.  Hopefully tomorrow's appointment with the surgeon will clarify some things.
