Weight Loss and PCOS

Hi all, I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago and I am finding it very difficult to lose weight. Does anyone have any tips?

I am on Metformin and have tried numerous diet plans but nothing seems to work!

Personally I think the Low Carb Hi Fat/Protien diet,  Like the Paleo Diet..

Listen to Gary Taubes who is an Expert in the field.. Journalist Come PHD in a science.. there are Podcasts out there which can explain what to do and how to follow the diets that are scientifically proven.. We eat a refined sugar diet excessive processed Diet today.. Causes lots of Health Conditions. I.e. Diabetes, Gout to name but a few..Mostly Metabolic that can be reversed by diet alone, if researched.

Hi there. I have PCOS as well. I would suggest cutting products with all added sugar, dairy, and limiting your carb intake (although not TOO much - carbs are what help make you feel full). When you do eat carbs, make sure it's whole grains only. Very little processed food, if any. No soda. Unfortunately we have to be more strict on ourselves than most people. Take up walking at least 3-4 times a week.

Hey ladies, thank you for replying.

It's a good starting point, the doctor didn't give me any information at all. She told me I had PCOS, gave me Metformin and sent me on my way. Ive recently started suffering from really bad anxiety too, which doesn't help because it makes me overthink and worry about everything.

Diana - I will check out Gary Traubes thank you!

Kati - I have started to cut out sugar as much as I can, and I've stopped eating bread and pasta. Will try whole grain stuff instead. I don't like soda so at least that's easy enough. Walking should be easy enough too! Thank you for your help.
