Weight loss medication with Sertraline?

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi, I just wondered if anyone had been prescribed any other medication from the doctor for weight loss whilst on Sertraline. My doctor suggested Oristat (the pill where you poo out all your fat!) which I don't want to take. There must be something that can help with the weight gain whislt being on these tablets!?

Thanks.

I was prescribed orlistat but it dont actually help remove current body fat but it stops new fat from staying in the body. in other words if you dont eat fatty foods orlistat will do nothing and if you do it makes you leak out your rear passage. decided this werent for me and doctor tried passing me on to a dietician but they refused to see me so was told cut carbs and fat out and do it naturally but haven't bothered as the weight gain has stopped

Hi Tom, thank you for replying. the thought of leaking makes me very anxious so definitely won't be taking that! Would you mind if i asked when the weight gain stopped, was it has a certain dose / mg's or when you had been on it for so long? Did you gained much, I'm up to about 2.5 stone extra. Thank you!
