Weight loss or gain?

I started Zoloft a week ago after a bad Prozac experience. However, my main reason for going on Prozac was that it didn't cause major weight gain from what my docto experienced with other patients and what I've heard from friends on it. Of course, everyone is different. But I'm very curious if people experienced more weight loss or gain with Zoloft. This is one of my biggest fears as I was on lexapro years ago and gained over 50 pounds in 2 years. Now I struggle even more with my weight and would love to not have to worry about it too much considering I'm on these meds for anxiety and panic. Having another thing to worry about would not be great. Would love to hear others experiences.

i have been on sertraline for nearly 7 weeks now & have lost 2/3 lbs. I have very little appetite. It is not indicative for everyone though.

I know your fears too well. I am on sertraline for anxiety and panic as well. My biggest fear for starting this med was weight gain because a lot of people on forums have said that weight gain was one of the side effects. I'm only on 25mg and have been taking it for just over a month. I have not gained any weight.....however I think perhaps because I'm on a low dose. I am also very active and count my nutrients because I train. My doctor said that if you eat healthy and exercise there shouldn't be weight gain. But personally I think maybe weight gain happens for some because the med slows everything down I.e feeling fatigued and lethargic. I would watch cravings and try to get out daily for fresh air or a walk, that really helped me in the beginning when things were tough. 😊but I know everyone is different and what works for one might not for someone else. Good luck.
