Weight loss support/encouragement group

Hello

Not sure if a group already exists for this

I was hoping we could encourage each other on our weight loss journey.  Share our ups and downs, tips and progress!

I personally think it would help me

So please share and keep in touch

So....

I am over weight and I am getting married in 10 months. I want that dream dress and finally have a photo taken with my partner and children.

At the moment I feel like I have all the determination in the world to lose this weight, but as we all may know, a take away, chocolate bar, Bottle of wine can make us lie to ourselves "I will start again tomorrow..." And then find it really hard to start again (although everyday starts off as a diet day)

I am not sure how much I weigh, I am 5ft7 and a size 18 jeans (at a squeeze) and I always buy size 20+ tops so they are baggy.

My weight problem started when I had my son 10 years ago. I ate for boredom and told myself the stupid old saying of "I am eating for two"

A few years after my son was born, I lost the weight in months it was easy and was a size 10. The best year of my life smile

The weight soon came back! A few weak moments and I was a food addict again.

Since then I have been on diets and keep failing.

This time I need/have to loose it because I will regret those photos for the rest of my life.

My weight loss plans are to cut right down on the red wine. (Drink always makes me hungry the next day and I always seem to give in after wine too)

For this first week I am going to have a bowl of healthy cereals for breakfast and lunch then a small healthy hot dinner.

Have also ordered a cross trainer as I have no time or money for a gym membership

What are your meal plans?

What has kept you motivated?

Any success stories?

My saying is not food tastes As good as SKINNY feels

    Hi

I am looking for the same thing, a weight loss buddy/support group.

I have recently had my second daughter and would like to return to my pre baby weight, especially as I am going to be Maid of Honour for my sister in February. Like you I want to be able to feel confident on the day and not regret the photos!

Also like you I suffer from food addiction behaviour and am finding it hard to kick start the process. I have struggled for the last 10 years going up and down and now wish to find a healthy and fit plato. I have nearly two stone to lose to get to my goal and would like someone to relay my progress (good and bad) to.

My plan is to eat 3 healthy, portion controlled meals, cutting out all the excessive over eating/binging on junk. When I am stressed or feeling low about myself I turn to high calorie food. I also plan to start doing exercise again. I have been unable to maintain my normal active lifestyle during the last year due to pregnancy complications. My baby also has bad acid reflux making it very hard to get any time for myself. Fast walking is my exercise of choice. Like you I can not afford the gym.

I would like to have someone that I can share my daily progress with as I think that will really help me to get back into the habit of eating sensibly and losing the extra weight. Rather than disclosing actual weight I would propose to record daily weight change starting at 2 stone and dropping to 0 when my goal weight is reached.

How does that suit you? I agree with your saying - nothing tastes as good ask skinny feels although I am now inclined to swap skinny for fit and healthy!

      Hello 😊

I am going to have to buy a weighing scales as I don't have one and couldn't even guess my actual weight.

But, yes that sounds a great plan recording our weight LOSS (hopefully not gain lol)

I think I might weigh myself less often (may twice or even once a week) because it may seem too disheartening everyday and seeing such slow progress.

My partner and eldest child can eat all day and never seem to put on a pound! They talk about food all the time, and I think the hardest part about this diet is them.

I am going to try and get them on a healthy eating kick too.

Even at a size 10 I was still heavy in the scales compared to friends and family that were the same size.

Have you started yet? Or have you set a date to start?

I am dreading Xmas because I know that will make me fall off the 'wagon' and I know how hard it is to get back on 😢

What foods are you going to avoid? Apart from the obvious I am going to cut out red meat, pork and bread and not have whole or semi-skimmed milk.

I am also working on the principle that the greener the fruit and veg the healthier it is.

Have you any tips about what to do to discourage a weak moment? I was thinking I might stick pictures of fat people in wedding dresses all around the kitchen, (well the inside of the cupboards lol) as well as my skinny day pictures (which I miss soooo much)

A MASSIVE good luck to you.

WE CAN DO IT (it's only food) 😩😫😤😖

It is ONLY food! I like that. Health, wellbeing and fitness are much more important and rewarding :-).

I got got scared of my increasing weight and stopped weighing myself a long time ago. However, that just gave me licence to keep over eating! I have found weighing myself daily in the past has been a big help in keeping me motivated. It is the weekly trend that is most important though. So long as that is downward, small flutuations don't matter.

Everyone has a different size to weight ratio so that is why I don't think we need to disclose actual weights. I have been unsuccessful in trying to start so far. When do you think you will be ready? I am not thinking of it as a diet but more a new start in long term healthy eating and lifestyle.

Have to to collect my oldest from preschool now.

    xx
