Weight of new hip

Posted , 8 users are following.

hi guys and gals, just out of interest how heavy are our new hips, roughly? I realise they are different sizes and also we lose some bone ready for the new hip but do we gain any weight because of it? I didn't think to ask when I had the chance.

Thanks

Cindy 😘

Hi Cindybud.  The parts weigh about 3 to 5 pounds. The bone removed during hip replacement weighs a little less. So, you may gain a few pounds of body weight as a result of hip replacement surgery.

Claudia, this is disturbing news! I will have to ask my surgeon if he has hip light replacement parts!

I losst 5 lbs, mostly as  muscle but also because it is so hard to get to the fridge so I have a big 2 litre bottle of water.  Also trying a  mostly plant diet with lots of legumes ans ck breast. Since I have not been able to drive or go shopping I have not been able to make cookies, cakes or buy chocolate.  I will try to keeping eating as healthy as I can once I get my freedom back. lol
