Geraldine, I not sure I can be of help at present but I too was following slimming world before op (lost 3 stone) but extremely slowly!  I am 50 and put it down to "hormones"..... I am now 4 weeks post op (total Lap Hyst & BSO) since the op I have put on 4lb - it may not seem much but it takes me ages to lose that 4lb.  I am hoping to go back to slimming tomorrow evening (just starting driving again).  I know my sister had trouble after her hysterectomy 10 years ago - sometimes her weight lose is nothing - she has hormone patch (not sure which one).  I am hoping not to have HRT but time will tell. I feel fine at the moment.  Perhaps we can have a moan up together smile It may well be that you may have to look for a different eating plan that suits menopause.  Best of luck and feel free to moan... Best wishes Elaine x

Hi Geraldine. I too had a full hysterectomy and bso. What the specialist don't tell you is if you have your ovaries removed you body no longer has a metabolism. And you will struggle to lose weight. I had mine last may. I lost a stone and 4lb while recovering as I lost my appetite but now on hrt estelo solo and I have put a stone and half on. I joined weight watchers 12 weeks ago and have stuck to it religiously and the only pounds I have lost are out of my purse. My leader gets my food diary every weeks and can't understand why I'm not losing any weight. I also go to the gym 4 times a week. It's so disheartening. I go on holiday in 4 weeks time and I feel depressed already as I thought as I have in the past lost a couple of stone in 2 months before the op.
