weight sticking

I've been on the tabs for about 14 weeks now and lost just over a stone. Now I seem to have come to a standstill, just don't seem to be losing anymore. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Snubbles yes I have gone to a standstill too, not sure whether it is due to my thyroid though so I will find out in a few weeks and then the doctor said that if it is ok they will see about giving me an alternative????

Me too. I lost just over a stone in the first two months but since then I have lost nothing. I am now in my fourth month and am doing exactly the same as at the beginning. I still have over 2 stone to go. I also have a thyroid condition but tests have come back ok.

Yep I had that too - its just your body adjusting to the weight loss and \"shrinking\" at a steady pace so that you limit the amount of excess skin or something like that according to my GP. Dont worry if you stick as long as it isnt more for a month as otherwise you get a telling off - some peeps have been taken off the tabs too which seems unfair

    Hi

You might need to reduce your portions a little as if you've lost weight your body might not be able to handle the same amount of food.

I've go serious with myself again and seem to have started loosing after about 3 weeks of just staying the same.

You might also need to step up the exercise.

    Good luck

    Hi there Jane1962 and everyone,

Well I have Osteo-arthritis in my hip and I have trouble getting around so this obviously has an impact on me as I am in a lot of pain too........ I have read that the tablets I take for my Fibromyalgia \"Lyrica\" help with excessive weight gain, so I told my new Gp this and she said I had to stop taking Orlistat if it has come to a standstill and they are going to try something else once my thyroid function test has been checked as this may be a factor also why I am not loosing further weight........ I have had an under active thyroid for ten years so this causes problems too....... I am so hoping to get further help loosing weight as my Pain Specialist said it would help with my pain......... fingers crossed, I will have further help loosing weight  Do check tablets you are on as I even read that certain anti- inflammatories can not help if you are trying to loose weight too?????

Take care everyone and hang in there xxx

This is my experience too. The medication I am on to control my diabetes makes losing weight very difficult. I also have had an underactive thyroid for 10 years: double trouble.

I have started with arthritis in my knees and am hoping losing weight will slow that process down, but it's very difficult.

I have never been told to lose weight, I asked for help as a low fat diet wasn't working. Maybe this is why I have not been as successful as some, my body is used to it.

    Hi Beryl,

Yeah it is not easy when we have Thyroid problems, I am just hoping I can get further help???? Even though I have lost a stone the pain has kind of got worse so weight loss has not made no difference in that respect????

I would just like to get back to my old self as before I gave up smoking, had my third child, whom is now nearly three and having been diagnosed with fibro and arthritis I know at mid thirties it does get harder to loose weight and as I am less active due to my disabilities this is another problem  so I am hoping my mid drift is not going to expand  anyway got to keep positive as they say....... Doctor said she will help anyway so fingers crossed xxxxx

I do hope everyone is having a good day xxx
