Hi, Pip! Congrats! i broke my fibula a year ago and was in a non weight bearing cast for 5 weeks. i imagine you're experiencing that weird tingling feeling as you're trying to put weight on it. it'll go away after a bit. i would suggest being patient and don't try to rush it. my doctor said "let pain be your guide, this isn't a time to push through the pain." i gradually increased weight until i could fully walk in my boot. i was in the walking boot for about 2 weeks and then moved to a stiff ankle brace for a few more weeks.. it's a slow process and it pays to be patient. the most difficult part imo was stretching my ankle back out and getting full mobility in the joint again. it takes some good stretching and determination along with a little time but you'll get there. i still felt a bit weak in the ankle for a good 6 months......mostly just on the stairs or standing back up from a squatting position but that too went away. i wish you the best of luck in your recovery! there's still a bit longer before you're 100% but the worst part is over!
