Weird and embarrassing side effects

Hi,

Has anyone else experienced any weird side effects of their medication?

OK this is embarrassing........

Let me put this as best I can......

I am aroused all the time and I mean almost to THAT point.

People may think it's funny or a good thing but it is horrible.

Nothing alleviates it!

Unfortunately my mobility hasn't been good enough to get out and see my doctor but I will be straight there Monday morning as I really can't cope with it now.

I would be really appreciative to hear I'm not just a freak lol

Hi well don't be embarrassed as while I'm not a doctor I did work many years ago in the early 1970s as a medical underwriting clerk long before computers. Thus I had to think like a doctor! I can assure from what I saw then, nothing absolutely nothing will embarrass a doctor, I saw it all then! I would think you have a hormone imbalance and I think your GP may well send you to a hormone specialist, an endocrinologist who will take bloods to sort you out. If I were you I would write your symptoms down and hand the paper to your GP thus saving him time and you embarrement of trying to say them! Good luck and I hope I have helped!🍀

Well I had the opposite effect from the antidepressants I take, I found it difficult to get aroused and couldn't reach a climax. I was too embarrassed to mention it to my GP and psychiatrist, but I did discuss it with my female keyworker, and I found ways round it! I think the suggestion to write down your symptoms and hand it to your doctor is a very good idea.

Yea I tried to look it up on the net and everything was about it decreasing libido.

I've always had a higher than average libido but this is awful. All down below feels like the muscles are permanently in a knot like how they go just before climax it's really distracting and exhausting and actually puts me off sex!

Interesting. Thanks for having the courage to post. Are we allowed to name the medication because it may just be certain types of anti-depressant (is that what you're on?)

I have recently been put on anti-depressants but the fisrt ones didn't suit me so have just switched to a different one ..... and i think it may be having the same effect although only been on them for 3 weeks so perhaps too early to say. BUT the same thing happened to me around 1998-99. This was yet another type of anti-D; I was a lot younger then and didn't have CFS then either so it was fine with me and my hubby!! Smiles all round.

I thought I was the only one who got these unusual side effects and like you did not say anything to my doctor. This time round it could be more difficult to cope with sad
