Weird ankle pain

Posted , 2 users are following.

I had an orif on my medial malleolus 14 months ago. I had a permanent screw placed in my ankle to hold my nonunion together.

My ankle seems to constsntly lock up, And when I go to crack my ankle and do semi circles to help it, I get sharp shooting pains in my surgical site, But I also get weird pain or a sensation on the outside of my foot, into my pinky toe and outside toes.

Does anyone else have this same problem?

Thanks in advance!

I am only 3 months post ORIF,but I do notice a somewhat numb, slightly painful to the touch area on tje right half of right foot. It's much better than weeks ago,but the weird sensation hasn't left completely. The knee incision is and top 2 screws are not as bothersome. I have 3 in the ankle,2 medial side,1 front front to posterior. All are bothersome, the 2 at the medial side seem to do their own pain thing, especially at night. I will not have any of the metal work out, period, I'm told. I've heard the senation at the toes may last quite a while. It helps when I go to pt and they massage. Try massaging daily. Touch your toes and let them know you're all still in it together.
