Weird brain feeling

Hi everyone,

I'll give you a brief to whats happened.

I was taken into hospital two months ago with this horrible dizzy and spaced out type attack, they seemed to come and go for two weeks. A few weeks later i started having these panic attacks every few days. However ever since then i've had this weird pressure and odd sensation in my head which doesnt go away, its like im not fully alert, i dont feel like getting up in the morning because i just think whats the point and this weird brain feeling is worst in the morning. I also have this derealisation feeling where nothing feels real and time just passes like a blur.

Im now into my third month and ive been on citalopram for two weeks now to help with the anxiety but it doesnt seem to have helped much. I keep also having these weird attacks where i feel like im losing my mind but i dont feel my heart beat going like with my first few panic attacks but i still have a high heart rate, i dont know if these are still panic attacks.

Has anyone had this weird head feeling before and how long did it take too pass?

    Hi Kieran!

I have literally word for word EXACTLY what you are describing. Mine started over 4 months ago and it hasn't stopped since. I'm also at just as much of a loss.

It started with dizziness and this weird brain fog feeling. I honestly cannot think at all, or concentrate. It feels like there's this dark blanket in my head clouding all my thoughts. Everytime I go about my day I feel like it's not me doing things. I have horrible de realization and like the world is happening around me but I'm not a part of it anymore. I feel very detached from the world and like I'm watching things happen, but not really to me. I'm disoriented and hazy 24 hours a day.

I wake up and it's the same thing every single morning. My panic attacks are happening every night now, and I experience the same things as you where I don't feel my heart beating and have weird sensations like my mind is completely detached from my body.

Everything passes by like a foggy dream state, and I'm just going through motions and not really knowing what's going on. It feels like I'm not here anymore, and everything is just blur-ily going by. It's very scary.

I hope you find relief soon!

What have the physicians concluded so far?  Did they manage to rule out possible diagnoses based upon their examinations?

MAny people feel like this that have Vestibular Migraines. If you are on facebook, you can look up groups, just type vestibular migraine and join them. Many people feel this way. Try not to let it freak you out, it will make things worse. I have been like this everyday for 6 yrs. Still have not found a fix yet.
