Weird chest pain and tightness

For about 2 years whenever i would sleep on one of my sides i would wake up with chest pains so i never really slept like that then yesterday I think I accidentally did and I woke up with minor chest pain and it felt weird I started to get worried so I went to sleep so I wouldn't think about it. I woke up and still had it and as time went by it felt worse. It felt like my chest was tight 30 mins later I felt shortness of breath and I got scared. I calmed down and regulated my breathing after 3-4 hours I still feel it in my chest but not as bad as before. I don't know if I could have heart disease or something else I'm only 16 and I don't really go outside much. Would taking a Sleeping Pill or Tylenol Be good? Or should I pay attention to my chest to see if it goes away or gets worse?

Hi, your experiencing a common symptom of anxiety which is a tight chest which can be painful as is shortness of breath.
I can assure you your not having a heart attack nor do you have heart disease.
I wouldn't recommend you take a sleeping pill or Tylenol unless you have been prescribed them for anxiety which I doubt. You would be better going with a parent to the GP and talking about your symptoms and that you get this when lying on a certain side and take it from there perhaps some CBT. In the mean time try to be occupied and do go out.
Don't worry, you will be fine. Neil

Thank u for your reply I'm just worried a bit cause it hasn't went away for about 12 hours I don't know if that is how long this symptom can last that's why I'm a little concerned. Also I'm wondering Is it bad to take a sleeping Pill or Tylenol in this situation? And if so why? Just curious I'm also not prescribed these medications.

Hi, because your worrying it's causing some anxiety and that's why it's lingering, there's nothing to worry about honestly, just let the symptoms go when they want too.
Definitely don't take a sleeping pill they are not for this sort of thing plus you don't want to get into the habit of taking them for anything other than difficulty sleeping abd that's only under supervision of a GP. As I'm not a GP or know you I cannot recommend you take Tylenol if you feel like you want too then I'd prefer you to ask your parents, you should talk to your parents about what your experiencing.

I don't know if these pains should have went away by now but I still feel it just not as bad I'm scared thinking about having a blood clot in my lungs
