Weird feeling in the bladder after the infection, please help!

I will see my doctor again tomorrow and ask to see a specialist, in the meantime I'd really appreciate your help and ideas, since I'm going out of my with right now.
Over two weeks ago I started having first symptoms of a UTI. Instead of doing the tests, my doc was convinced I had candida overgrowth (even though I told him I was sure it was a UTI). Anyway, I had a bad reaction to a cream and a suppository he prescribed and my UTI got worse. I started having kidney pain and a funny feeling in my bladder (as it it were somehow extended, bloated). And my urine started smelling like ammonia!
After I had been diagnosed with E. coli infection and put on a one-dose antibiotic which didn't work, I was given another one for a week. Even though my symptoms have calmed a bit, they are still here. Most notably this "funny" feeling in my bladder and slight burning.
I'm constipated and tired.
What should I do next?
What could this problem be?
Thank you!

Do you know what antibiotics you've been given so far? They're all different and do different jobs so maybe you haven't had the right one yet. E.coli is difficult to get rid of as a colony builds a protective film over itself and many antibiotics can't penetrate the colony. You would need to take D mannose for a few weeks to break down the bio-film, along with some cranberry juice every day which helps to prevent any free-roaming bacteria from clinging to the bladder walls. The D Mannose is thought to also latch onto any free roaming bacteria and 'escort' them out of the body.
Did your doctor examine you to check it was candida in the first place? The symptoms are fairly obvious and easy to see so if he didn't I think you could ask why not as he delayed your treatment unnecessarily.
Having said that, the advice for most UTIs is to wait and see as many clear up by themselves and there is a big fear at the moment that there will be no antibiotics left to treat major problems if they keep getting used for minor infections. Although I think he should have done a dipstick test to see if anything to indicate an infection showed on it.
You say your symptoms have calmed down, although that was 3 days ago. If it's still better then it was I suggest drinking plenty of water and have 24% cranberry juice twice a day (watch out for cheaper 10% brands, check the label) and keep this up at least until you feel better (I take cranberry every day to make sure any bugs that get in are just flushed right out!).
If your symptoms are now worse, go back to your doctor and demand a culture to see if the E.Coli is still there. If it is, beware of taking more antibiotics, especially if you've already been given a Fluoroquinolone and he suggests more. Check on this forum and elsewhere about how to get rid of E.Coli as antibiotics are really not the answer. There are many posts on here about D Mannose.

Thank you so much for your reply.
I'm feeling better!
The only symptom that is left now is slight burning when I'm about to finish peeing (the last few drops).
Before giving me any antibiotics, he thought it was candida, even though I told him it wasn't. The anti-candida treatment has considerably worsened my situation. The burning "down there" was horrible.
All the antibiotics he gave me after the urine test were indicated on the bacteriogram.
I saw my doc in the meantime, and I'll do another urine test and and an ultrasound of kidneys. I will ask him to refer me to a specialist.
Thank you so much for your telling me about D mannose and 28% cranberry juice. I'll try it and pass the info on.
My 7 year old niece is often suffering from E. coli UTIs.
