Weird feelings in the head

Hello, I am 35 years old and somehow started suffering very badly from anxiety 4 years ago. I struggle with heart palpitations but seem to be under control. My most concern is the feeling I get in my upper stomach that makes me have a sick feeling and then it seems to relieve by making my heart flutter and sending a gas feeling to my head were all the wired things happen. I will feel like I am going to panic, faint, become week, and collapse.. it leaves me with a flushed face or a hot face with a funny feeling in my head. Sometimes it feels cloudy and sometimes it feels like I am going to go crazy and die.!There are more symptoms that are just hard to explain. What is weird it can come and go or hang around for an hour and completely ruin my day. My doc seems to think it is all anxiety. If I go for a jog or work really hard it seems like it doesn’t mess with me a whole lot.

If you have had tests and they cannot find any explanation, it is most likely anxiety. Of course, when you mentioned panic, then that is a dead-giveaway. Several things, psychosomatic symptoms are very real, but are reactions to nerves; they can make you feel very weird. All people who suffer or have suffered from anxiety have had the same complaints, that it is difficult to impossible to explain the symptoms, with the exception of heart palpitations, heart fluttering, weird feelings in the head, etc. You are among good company. I suffer from general anxiety, but it is often in reaction to things or situations that I am uncomfortable in or do not want to face. Exercise is good for anxiety. I used to work out at the late Bally's Health club. Many people with anxiety are so health conscious, that they are afraid to work out. I used to be like that when I had my first major panic attacks at the age of 17. However, I didn't understand. Now, years later and after reading and experiencing anxiety, I understand more. Cognitive therapy teaches that our thoughts affect our feelings; I believe there is some truth to this. However, our mind, body, and environment interact. This is why medication can help with anxiety, it may be cognitive in nature, but there is overlap. Best wishes.

I also wanted to comment on the weird feelings in the head and stomach. These are prime areas that are impacted by anxiety. Digestive problems, nausea, muscle-tightness, a feeling of a tight band around the head, sudden dizziness, etc., etc., If you have panic or fear about things, feelings of uneasiness, excessive worry, it is a good indication that you are suffering from anxiety. I have experienced what I can only describe as, "head zaps" or sudden feelings like I am moving sideways very quickly and losing control. This has happened when I was driving. I have read about this symptom, so there are others who experience it. The cloudy feeling is sometimes referred to as "brain fog," a feeling like you are out of it, so to speak. I have said many times over the years, at different times, that I feel as if I am going crazy. Sometimes, the feelings are very uneasy and I fear that they will last for several days. Then, they will disappear when my attention is drawn to something else, or I am at work. Anxious people focused inward too much. I have been told that I live in my head, etc. As far as feelings of going crazy, I once had a cognitive therapist tell me something that I have written in several posts, "before you admit yourself, admit to yourself." What he meant was, when you feel you are going crazy and want to admit yourself to a hospital, admit to yourself what you are thinking that is causing you to feel the way you do. This does help, because I will start to think about what I am thinking that is driving me nuts. It is just better when you have someone who is trained to help you with the process. When you visit a counselor, if you haven't already, you will notice that they do not focus so much on feelings, as what is going on in your life; they know that anxiety is a reaction to fears about real or imagined situations.

Reading your post has helped me so much
I have suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for years. It’s escalated again. No reason I can pin point. I am at a certain age. So I have heard it can be menopausal.
I frequently have the feelings of being pushed sideways as you say like a brain zap. If this happens it makes me panic. Is this a anxeity symptom.

Everyone suffers in a different way but physical symptoms apply along with mental in the negative thought process
The way forward is to deal with the anxiety at source what triggers your anxiety attacks and I would advise to stay away from medication and go for a therapist
Look at your lifestyle
Excerise
Diet
Sleeping pattern
Social activity
Other items that can fuel anxiety
Such as Alcohol , smoking, masturbating, work overload
Also educate your self on anxiety this helps because your mind can tell your body this is anxiety and it can reduce the level of an atta k as you can tell your self these are symptoms of anxiety
Seeing a therapist and working on lifestyle changes can overcome this
It’s all about training your mind and thought pathways not subconsciously to think negative and activate flight or flight mode which gets your body ready for attack and this overload your body with Adrenalin you don’t need because their is no attack to fear so your mind tricks your body
Heart palpitations are very normal problem breathing tight chest feeling of going crazy sweating, feeling of panic feeling of wanting to be alone in your own thoughts
All standard symptoms scary I know but they won’t hurt you and they will pass but will continue to return unless you deal with the problem at the source
Therapy helped me massively hard at first but after 6 months I was in a really good place found the root of my anxiety worked through it trained my mind and slowly negative thinking disappears and replace by more logical thinking that keeps you in more relax mode clear mind
Clearing yourself of negative thinking and anxiety is bliss you don’t realize just how much energy physical and mentally you need to live with anxiety
Sorry for the long message I have been where you are and thought a detailed reply may give you some comfort and a way through
Take care stay strong
