Weird head sensation....ruling and ruining my life

long story. 8 weeks ago i woke up with a headache so i took some paracetamol and got on with my day. that morning i had a "funny turn" that stopped me in my tracks. it came over me from no where and i felt really lightheaded like i might pass out. i didnt and then it passed. it happened again that day and i ended up in a and e. they put it down to migraine but i know a migraine when i have one and this wasnt one. they also checked my ear which was red and inflammed but didnt seem concerned.

fast forward to 8 weeks later i am getting this horrible sensation in my head. it happens everyday and throughout. its not a pain. the only way i can describe it is like a pressure halo all around my head which comes in a wave and almost feels like by brain is twitching. it really panics me even though i should be used to it by now.

my doctor is treating me for a sinus infection as i have a retracted eardrum, i cant equalise the pressure in my ears. im on my third course of antibiotics, this one being amoxicillin clavulate, a nasal steroid spray and antihistamines.

my biggest concernis this light headedness experience. im reluctant to thinkits related to my ear as its not a spinning sensation. ive talked myself into believing ive got a brain tumour and it is generally just getting me down now.

I have had same for years with other assorted health problems. In my case cause is an auto immune condition auto inflammatory in nature. I understand your panic ....I did too in the early days. I can offer sympathy and support but not many solutions. i have chronic inflammation affecting my sinuses and ears. Certain things can help a bit, like a simple saline nasal spray my doctor prescribed and a nasal douche. They only helped in a limited way though.

I got a break from it when I got a good treatment which addressed my central problem and controlled my illness. You should certainly see ent to ruke out any 'functional' issues fir example polyps or deviated septum. Don't get too worried about tumours and stuff. It very probably is nothing like that but a chronic, lingering annoying and uncomfortable condition. I have had so many brain scans now (for other more neuro symptoms associated with my illnes). One neurologist described my brain as pristine. Made me smile. My answer may not be too helpful but I hope it shows you can have these awful symptoms without it being anything too terrible.

thankyou for your reply. can i ask what treatment you had that helped? i do have an appointment with an ent consultant but it has already been cancelled once and moved back due to him being sick! i think i am just paranoid and anxious as i cant quite believe that this head sensation could be from a sinus issue. i also dont want to b one of those people who goes to the doctor diagnosing myself lol
