Weird line on my x-ray and MRI

Posted , 2 users are following.

I got an x-ray on my knee the other day and my doctor said it looked normal expect one thing. There was a white line at the bottom of my femur.  So I get a MRI done b/c he thinks the problem could be my meniscus. However, when I look at the images I see the white line in my MRI as well. It's inside my femur based on where the image is in the cross section.  I don't what to search online and can't figure it out. Anyone have any idea?  I've attached a pic.

Thanks

Hello Coach, I am a MRI Technologist and I would like to give you some information.  The writing on your image tells me it is a Coronal (plane), PD (Proton Density), FAT (Fat saturation), L (Left).  Did you get the Radiologist's (x-ray/MR doctor) report?  Your referring MD can give you a copy.  Also, if our ortho is reluctant in any way, go elsewhere, he is not being true to you.  One thing you can do is go to the facility where you had the MRI and ask to speak to the Radiologist in person.  Ask them what that is.  My thought without seeing other sequences would be a blood vessel, old or new fracture, or a anomaly in the process of the sequence.  If your meniscus is torn, it would be mentioned in your report.  Good luck.

Thanks, I go in Thursday and am pretty impatient. The meniscus I can wait for. But this is just confusing. When I go in I'll update you. Thank you for your input!

One other thing. In another view from the top down it shows that the white line is IN my femur. From the top view it looks like a white dot. So it's in the bone. If that helps.
