i was told on December 20, 2016 that I had a cyst on my right and left ovaries that they wanted to recheck in six weeks. I went for my checkup February 15th. The right cyst was gone. The left was a small 2.7 cm acne all septated cyst. My gun is sending me to a gynecological oncologist. I go tomorrow. I am trying to be optimistic but dot understand the reason for the referral

Well good news is it is so common. I have PCOS, polycystic ovarian syndrome. Which is also super common in women. I had my first cyst at 16 years old during puberty. And the thing is the cysts can grow and shrink in size. I went to my obgyn 1 month had a few cysts. 3 months later there were new and old ones that shrunk or got bigger. It's kind of what happens. Maybe if you were not diagnosed with PCOS in the past it might seem unusual to the doc you have a cyst now. I don't know your age, weight, or other symptoms so I can't say that is what it is for sure. But just try to stay calm until you know for sure. Good luck!
