Weird question alert.

Well I'm on day 6/7 now and I reckon I'm just in the cheese grater stage ( that's definitely how my rear feels). The burning and stinging is horrendous. Can I just ask if people felt razor like pain when your anus closes up following a bm? Doc freaked me out a bit talking about anal stenosis after doing my op and I'm wondering if my Anus is struggling with opening and closing. Sorry if this is tmi x

It might just be a wound around the outside. It hurts when I 'clench' but I think that's just the wound. When I clean down there one side hurts the other doesn't, maybe it's just where it's been repaired. My stinging lasts for 10-20 mins after a BM then I'm ok again.

I guess it could be the wound but it's like it's really struggling to close up again and hurts like hell x

Yes, I have intense burning after each BM. I feel like it is harder to open up to have a BM than before the surgery. The stinging though, is horrible. My stools are not super thick. They are kind of thin. I am hoping that it's because things are still swollen down there and the stool softeners and metamucil I'm taking.

I Have to immediately go to the shower after eachBM because the stinging is painful. But like Darren said, it's only on one side. I look at myself in the mirror and the bruising has gone down significantly. My OP was Monday the 12th of March.

I too have had burning , stinging and feeling of razor blades cutting my rectum with BMs.

At 4 weeks post op the razor blade/ ripping feeling with bowel movements got worse and I was told to keep doing my sitz baths and ice packs and the swelling would eventually go down and the pain should lessen.

Well now I’m 6 weeks post op and after going to doctor today and telling him my stools have gotten much smaller but the pain has increased since week 4 despite still doing stool softeners and stool being soft he has discovered while doing a rectal exam which was excruciating painful that I have a stricture/ stenosis and now I am scheduled for surgery again Friday to correct this problem.

I feel like the past 2 weeks the nurse in the doctors office blew me off by saying it’s normal to have swelling and to keep doing sitz baths and ice packs which I did religiously but I continued to have increased pain and insisted being seen today which is what I should have done 2 weeks ago.

I’m not happy needless to say plus a skin tag was removed with last surgery from hemorrhoid banding lady year when I had hemorrhoidectomy in January and now I have a larger skin tag this time that I ask my doctor to remove on Friday when I go back to surgery and he said it needs to wait until swelling goes down and he will remove it in the office at a later time.

Ladies and gentlemen if your stools begin to get smaller ( which mine are the size of a baby pup or kitten stool but seriously painful)especially if pain increases demand to see your doctor.

OMG Kathy. Sounds like you've gone through a hellish time. Thanks for replying. I'll definitely keep an eye on the situation. Take care and hope they sort everything out for you on Friday x

Did you get medication for your BM?

I was given lactulose and fybogel and this helped me. Also after each BM I sat in a bath which helped.
