Weird skin lesion

Hi, I've had this mole on my thigh for 10+ years and it has stayed almost exactly the same (picture 1) until about 4 months ago when it started to get this almost red/bruised like area around it (picture 2). I’m not going to lie, I haven’t looked at it for a while and then yesterday I looked at it and it had faded significantly and is almost gone (picture 3). I guess I’m just looking for some advice because I’ve been seeing posts lately about skin cancer etc and I’m terrified. I also feel like I’ve lost the opportunity to get it checked out because it’s almost gone. I also live in Canada so I would need to make an appointment with my doctor and he would have to refer me to a dermatologist which could take up to 6 months. Help!
