Weird throat things.

Hi. About three weeks ago I caught a chest infection off a woman I was with (I know her well, I did not perform oral, I've had all the tests they've all come back negative). It went away after about 10 days. However on Sunday I noticed these red things on the back of my throat. Went to the doctor, he said it was surely tonsillitis (one of the tonsils has white bits on it) and the red bits are part of that. He did a swab test anyway, got the results back today and it doesn't show any kind of infection, including tonsillitis. Told to go back Monday if its still there.
Maybe it's thrush. I'm worried, and could be being paranoid, does this look like HIV or am I being paranoid? I've attached a photo. (Bit on the right of the photo is saliva).

It does look unusual and irritated but if your Dr says it's not too bad I wouldn't worry.
The pits on your tonsils could harbor tonsil stones (harmless) .
Check tonsils stones on youtube , I had them before

the back of my throat has always been bumpy similar to that... looks red sometimes, but i often suffer with acid reflux and post nasal drip.... if youve been tested for all stds and your doctor is not concerned then i wouldnt worry. maybe its just irritated by the chest infection ?

Hmm. Very mild sore throat as well. Even had a tight chest when I woke up this morning which didn't last long. Could still be some remnant of the chest infection. I'm just worried that it's an STD, how could I get one there though if I didn't perform oral, and all the tests are negative?

its not an std. you can obvs catch somethings orally. but would need to perform oral sex. which you said you havent. plus all the tests came back negative dont worry about it

if there was no oral sex, not going to be an STD - unless I am missing something. If you did not have sexual intercourse or share a needle with the person, there is no risk for HIV.
There is inflammation in your throat as it should normally be smooth, and not look like cobblestones. Trust what the doctor is telling you. Most throat issues are viral infections so they will not show up on bacterial tests (if you were tested for strep) and they need to run their course with your body. Most of these issues are caused by post nasal drip or issues in the sinus area. So if you had a runny / clogged nose, it could be the release of mucus down the back of your throat that is causing this issue.
