I'm sorry to hear you had a stroke. What exactly are your visionary problems?

I had SAH in 2009 and had to have stronger glasses to read with.
As Popman said it is a long haul, but you will get there.
Never give up, my Family used to sing to me when I was out of it.
Good Luck and sing as I found it did help me.

Yes, I lost a bit of my peripheral vision and I found that cars appeared out of nowhere as they came into view. The work-around for me was to continuously sweep the road in front of me, left to right and back and thjat seems to help. The other thing I noticed was mild halucinations - I would get a flash of something that could be there - like a person sitting in a room - but after a second it would be clear that it was just a vision - if you have those you will probably get used to them as I have. I also find that I can't read words on the TV screen as quickly as I could and the trick for that (if you need to read your TV) is to record the show and play it back so you can pause the picture in order to read the entire text. Hope that helps.

I'm interested in your mention of loss of peripheral vision and whether you are in the UK. If so, and your peripheral vision hasn't recovered, were you ever advised that you didin't meet the DVLA guidelines for driving.
As for words on the TV screen,I think they probably disappear too soon even for most viewers to read!
