I am not sure when you were diagnosed or what all you have tried but maybe you should slowly start trying new approaches. I don't want to upset you but results will not happen overnight and sometimes it is best to relax.

I am newly diagnosed and had a moment of freaking out and wanting an immediate cure but after some deep breathing and taking a moment of letting it all sink in I feel better. Some moments I start to get scared and panic and then I remember I can handle this.

Research, read and see what all these wonderful ladies have to say but don't try everything at once. You will find what works for you. I think once we start trying all these things at once it almost gets worse.

Hang in there. You will get through this!!!!

Hi melissa, yes pretty fairly new diagnosis as of 2 months ago, actually the clob the first gynecologist prescribed was bringing back the skin color and even calmed down the hardening and lesions but i was too freaked out due to horror stories and discontinued after 2x a day for 2 weeks as of his prescription, then i had the first treatment of my mona lisa laser on the 15th of dec..seemed like thats when the blisters happened, still awaiting 2nd session on feb 2..since then actually the irritation of not being on clob started and so i put clobestol again a week ago and since then have used it 3x this week in very small amount over irritation. i dont know wth this white patch blistery thing is on left labia but it hurts...i just want to put it into remission. hang in too,i wish you luck xx

Joey, I agree 100% with Melissa, for what it's worth. I was in such a state when newly diagnosed I tried many many things, creams and lotions and balms and washes, sometimes three different things in a day! Spent so much money sending away for things, here, in Australia, USA. Honestly, my bathroom cabinet is like a pharmacy. In the end, things got worse before they got better. I threw everything at this enemy and thought about nothing else for 24/7.  Melissa, I know I had more than a moment, but then, I am a panicker. I've settled down, found the medication that works for me. Mometasone alcohol free at this point in time. But am prepared now for that to maybe no longer work and have to move on to another.

It all takes time and as we all know, not one regime for one really works for another, there's always a tweak that works for "you".

I also think it's important that if you are seeing several different health professionals that they are all aware of each other's treatment plans.

    Good luck Joey.

Btw, I know nothing about the yoghurt, except using for thrush in the old days.

Hey thank you for that input and sharing your story lynne, really it has been a constant obsession of mine and caused major depression at first. online researching till 3am..just crazy. it is very expensive and time consuming. i found the clob working but then sex after the 2 weeks on it was way way more painful, then again i had the biopsy and was still healing partly after a week. that is what has been depressing me, actually. i find coconut oil immensly relieves my symptoms. i just don't want potential skin thinning but i do know clob can help it go into remission? ugh...i just dont know what advice to take or not take? guess i better do a follow up w my original gynecologist who did the biopsy..as i am not sure now how much clob to use a week...do you guys have any recommendations? thank you..

I did use yoghourt many years ago whilst going through menopause; however, a GP said it could introduce pathogens into the vagina, so I stopped, not wanting to complicate symptoms.

I was under the impression that yoghourt douches were used in cases of candida/thrush - not LS.  People often confuse the symptoms.

i know me too, she i guess used it for the 'good bacteria' who knows all i know is it made me worse..

    Hi Joey,

Clob, or Dermovate over here in the UK, does work by thinning the skin, but what I have been told is that LS causes a certain ammount of thickening of the skin so the two balance out.  You just have to be very careful where you apply it.  There is a link to how to do this somewhere on this site.  Don't be afraid of it, just use very little appropriately, especially if it has given some relief to you already.  I know that it really is the only thing which can make me comfortable when thigs starts to irritate.  It is always the ointment I use.  I think that creams make the area feel damp and the ingredient doesn't penetrate as well. I use clob only when I feel thngs are becoming irritable and generally overnight it calms things down.  Also, don't use soaps and other pproducts in the bath - water alone is fine - warm yourself and enjoy a pleasant hot bath with candles and all that jazz if you like (perhaps some bicarb of soda in it) - make sure you thoroughly dry the area, then apply the ointment, massaging in for about a minute.

You'll find a way that suits you - good luck!

hey thank you margaret, i also realized that the clob can be beneficial and prevent further scarring, really right now its one of the only things out there that treats it somewhat. im going to look at the site although what i do is a pea sized amount rub it in between my finger tips and apply it using a mirror on the scabs and white areas, think its fine for going back then maintenance of 2x a week i hope its ok you too good luck xx

I am so glad to hear I'm not the only one who is totally consumed by this disease.

Im fairly good with medical things but this blindsided me. I thought I was more aware of my bodys welbeing and now I keep thinking I must have missed something not to realize I was having a real problem. I am somewhat afraid to try some of the ideas I have read about but maybe more afraid not to.
