Well it's 5am....

....and for the third night this week I am being kept awake by this horrific itching. I have final year uni exams in 3 weeks and this is having a serious effect on my work. But how do I explain this to my tutors?!

I've been to my GP who prescribed me a cream which helps a bit but doesn't put the itch away completely. He also gave me tablets to help me sleep but they leave me feeling too drowsy to study the next day. What am I going to do? If my future is wrecked by this condition I swear to god...don't know what I'll do. Have given up tomatoes, spicy food, pears (oddly I think they made it worse) and coffee (annoying when I'm so tired), but nothing seems to work! ARGGGGH!

Ok mate first thing you need to do is go out and buy fragrence free baby wipes, yes i did just say that.

Next get either vaseline or emollient cream (has to prescribed by your doc)or aloe vera gel (defo gel) 99% proof (health food shops).

Now make sure your nails are cut. Now which ever one you've brought put onto baby wipe (fold into 2) and rub into your itchy part of bottom (that's why you cut your nails so you don't accidently cut yourself). Now the itch should stay away fron hours and you shouldn't have cut yourself and those products can be safely used everday (some products after long term use actually make you itch).

    Hope this helps.

Well I was rude because I've had this itch for over 2 years and sadly it's not worms, which is usually the first thing doctors (who are crap at doing anything about this itch) look for. I think 2 courses of medicines shows worms it ain't.

Have you tried applying a ice cold wet sponge / wash cloth / flannel to the area? Just keep the cloth or whatever topped up to keep it very cold, yeah its bliss :D

There is a relatively new product out called HemoClin ( expensive at £13.50!) that a friends of mine has found fantastic ..... after years of itching and trying pretty much everything available, she now swears by this.

It can be bought at Boots and contains mainly natural ingredients apparently. It has transformed her life!!
