Well its been long haul but....

the levels have hit 54 following todays section - one more then I'm in the MainT phase. early hours of the morn deadly Cramps & teeth throbbing like your in need of some serious treatment are two of the side effects I've encountered. But worst was in the begining with the feeling your on planet 9 and unable to get through a working day with dizzy spells & tripping BP -  I wouldnt wish that one on my worst enemy smile This was cured by having a saline infusion following section - So if anyone encounters that reach for the fluid it does the job!  Filled in my blood donor form so hopefully something positive can come out of all this!

Congrats on reaching that milestone!  Sorry about your side affects.  As I mentioned in another post, I did have the problem of iron depositing in the pulp of my teeth.  I did not have such serious throbbing pain, but my teeth went grey coloured over night.

Have you tried taking a couple of paracetamol just before bed?  These help with my legs problem.

    Hi Paul

Very pleased for you now that you have reached maintenance phase.  No more weekly venesections but funnily enough, you might miss the frequent visit to the hospital.

After going for three and a half years before getting to maintenance, the hospital felt like my second home.  It was like attending some club or other where everyone knew you and you caught up with all the latest news etc.

    Best wishes

Actually your right smile Does feel very much like your second home. Although your free from the weekly section it is a condition for life unfort but theres much worse out there. I got the forms to donate last Wk so thats what I will be doing - out of a real prob comes something positive I guess. Wrk / line managers were a real pain in the backside about this initially and considering I wrk in the same trust where I was having the section done I couldnt see a prob - Even now they are still talking bout outlook and calendars. My sentiments are what goes around comes around smile  But this forum is gd!  You learn stuff you never knew about and find out lots!
