Went for ear syringing, made my problems worse!:(

Hey everyone, first post here. Hope it's the right place. So Yesterday I attended an appointed with a practice nurse for my ears to be syringed. Before this I wasn't experiencing any hearing problems, but my GP reccomended I get my ears syringed because they were waxy. This was after explaining to him I've had tinnitus for aslong as I can remember. So the nurse starts pummeling my ears with the water, and it totally clogs up my right ear, I couldn't hear a thing. I told her, but she says she'd come back to it after the left. Well the exact same thing happened to my left ear, totally clogged up. So I left, feeling horrible, full of regret, and really anxious. I'm a musician and I produce music, I was looking forward to coming home with lovely clean ears and great hearing to make some more music. Nope, not happening. So I put olive oil in my right ear and take a shower. After the shower it's unclogged, but the hearing isn't perfect, it's probably as good as it was before hand. By this point my left ear was a little bit better. I put some oil in it before I went to sleep and when I woke up I couldn't hear properly out of it again. Frustrated, I make my own ear syringe. I know I probably shouldn't but when the nurse done it it caused me great discomfort and pain. I got some success, I managed to remove a relatively large chunk of wax, but my hearing still isn't really back. It feel like there is a pressure deep in my ear. I can hear a little bit, maybe 20 percent of what I should be able to hear. So my question is, should I continue with the olive oil in my left ear? Or continue with a new 5% Peroxide solution that a pharmacy reccomended me?

Difficult to answer .I think firstly someone needs to look in your ears to see if there is still wax present. Was your wax softened with oil drops for a few days BEFORE she syringed them?

Don't try and syringe your own ears as it would be all too easy to perforate your ear drum.

I can only suggest that you have your ears re examined re wax .

Tinnitus is quite problematic to treat as I am sure you are aware.

Thanks for the reply! I was very careful when syringing myself, the pressure was not even half as much as the practice nurse was using, I was very very careful. There is no pain in my ear at all I should add, just a pressure or a full/blocked feeling deep inside. I had put olive oil in a few times, but not the two days before as I was out of town and forgot the oilsad I know the tinnitus probably wont be cured, thankfully none of this has worsened it!
