Went it for my every 4-5 year ear syringing and my ear is now a mess

So i could tell my ear was started to clog from wax (does this every 4-5 years) so went in to get it cleaned out. I've never had issue with Syringing in the past . The Dr started syringing and got a fair bit of wax out, i could hear pretty good but said there was just a bit more in there so went back at it and completely blocked my ear. He says the wax is stuck to the ear drum. He tried a few more times to get it out and was getting some blood in the water so stopped saying he didn't want to hurt me, and it was hurting. He said he would refer me to an ENT specialist but told him, I can't wait a month like this being completely deaf in one ear. Not to mention the muffled ringing and ear just feels horrible. Not sure if he broke the ear drum or got water in middle ear area, as the ear still feels wet sometimes and its been 24 hours since. Anyway i asked him if there was anything i could put in it and he said mineral oil but read if ear drum was ruptured you shouldn't put anything in it. This is very rough time for me with working and have 3 little ones under 5. I think I may go to the hospital and see if they have an ENT there that can do the surgery to remove the bit of wax that's apparently rammed into my ear drum, thanks to the syringing. To me, it feels like there's more wrong with the ear than just ear was blocking but i guess i've never had this happen either.

PS have your ears microsuctioned. it is the best way to get your ears cleaned out. its noisy but everything is sucked out and its bliss!

Hopefully that is what the ENT does. The walk in clinic Dr that messed my ear up said it takes the ENT specialist about 5 minutes to clean out all the wax, but didn't say what the method was. For some reason though, last 24 hours my ear has seemed to feel better. Its still clogged but doesn't feel as bad, either that or i'm just adjusting to it. Was sitting around today and heard a loud pop in it but ear actually felt better after. So for now I'm not going to hospital since it seems manageable. I'm doing quite a bit better than I was yesterday thankfully and can actually function.

yes, ENT only use Microsuction, but you can go to indepedant hearing/audiologist. I have had to do this lately as my appt at the ENT clinics have been cancelled for months and my ear fills up with wax in 4/5 months and i mean the wax is thick, sticky and pushes its way out. They are professional and do exactly the same as an ENT. Go on the net and you will find them. Any hearing centre will do it or ask your GP to recomend one. Hopefully your ear will be ok x
