What actually is this?!

Hello,

I have never had a formal diagnosis of what this is but I know it’s hereditary on my Mums side as she has one on her hand, my Grandad had one and and some of my cousins do.

I have a few much smaller insignificant blue marks on my body but this is the main one. Sometimes it swells like it has today and can be painful, it hasn’t swollen for at least two years.

It is similar to a ganglion but I know it is not one.

Any body have any information?
