Give it time, fodmap isn't instantaneous.

If your burger was homemade, you know you didn't add garlic, onion etc for flavouring, or wheat flour to dust it before it was pan fried. You'll also know that your sweet potato was made without butter...or flour if it was sweet potato fries.

If it wasn't homemade, you'll need to start asking these questions when you eat out. I know, I know...following the fodmap lifestyle suddenly makes you the most fussiest eater ever. But honestly, it's worth asking the question whenever you eat someplace new.

I've just found out that my failsafe...French fries...are no longer my failsafe because a lot of restaurants make sure they're crisp by dusting them in flour first. Awww man!!!!

Fodmap doesn't work for everyone, but give it time to work through your digestive system and make sure you're not letting in hidden ingredients that aren't fodmap friendly.

Good luck, the effort is worth it xxx

Sounds like you've bought in to the FODMAP lifestyle. It shouldn't be long before you notice a difference.

Leeniepie made a good point about the GERD symptoms; FODMAP might not alleviate the heartburn.

But, it's always worth giving something a go and you're definitely on the right track.

      All the best xxx

As has been said you need to give it time - 3 days to a week to see any difference with FODMAP. It can take this long for all the food you've previously been eating to get out your system and for it to calm down.

Also I don't think FODMAP will do anything for GERD as a lot of 'safe' foods on FODMAP can be heartburn triggers.

Potato can also be a trigger.  My brother had IBS and potatoes always gave him flare ups.

Why do you assume you have IBS? The symptoms you have described here are upper GI symptoms. Also----SIBO----were you diagnosed with that & I wonder what criteria your doctor or you used to determine that. Sounds to me like you have Dysbiosis & maybe heartburn----meaning that if the dybiosis was properly treated it may take care of the heartburn.
