What are anxiety disorders' risk factors and triggers?

I think I have anxiety, I'm not able to focus anything. Anxiety is literally killing my sleep for the last few weeks. For a starter what should I do to get more productivity and focus.

Thanks

many people who have anxiety are not able to focus or sleep very well. I do virtual counseling and my counselor suggested to me to first of all stay off of or limit my time online, social media, news , etc. too much of that actually affects the brain and reduces the ability to focus and can interrupt sleep.

One thing that really helped me to stop thinking about the past or worrying about the future is learning how to be in the present moment. That is where true peace is. of course we have to plan things for the future etc. but we don’t have to dwell on it and worry about it all the time. Scientific studies have shown that listening to meditations on present moment actually change brain chemistry for the positive.

there are many great short and longer meditations on YouTube for present moment, sleep, anxiety, etc. I listen to those just before I fall asleep and I never make it through the whole meditation because it just lolls me to sleep.

we need to get back to the calmer more joyful state of mind and way of living. Less TV, etc and more calming things like reading a good book, enjoying walking in nature, spending time laughing with friends and family, etc. living in the present moment!

when I was growing up we did not have the Internet and I can tell you life was so much more relaxed back then.

if you are really struggling, set up an appointment with a counselor who can help you manage this. I do virtual counseling which works great! Take care
