What are dry eye symptoms exactly?

For 5 weeks now ive had shaky vision like looking at hot tarmac or heat off a car bonnet

my optician said its dry eyes and to use eye drops

so far nothing has worked and my vision is still shaky from the moment i wake up to when i go to bed

ive had all general health checks and no red flags so is it really just a case of dry eyes?

they dont seem waterery or sticky in the morning, just shaking

also walking down the street is like being in a vertual reality world where your vision moves up and down as you walk, thats the best i can describe it

any advise please help as its really starting to get me down now
