Hi, lifelong asthma, used to use two, but the Ventilan has gone as Docs said it was ruining my heart, now use Symbicort 160 and it suits me, no problems. I vote inhaler.

I like non-steroid inhalers!  they are fast acting and I just take them when I have an attack smile

Inhaler is always a better option. But if you find it difficult to breathe your doctor may give you a combination of medicines and inhaler.

Inhaleed medications are always preferable because they do not get absorbed sytemically in large quantities, which means fewer side effects. Another benefit of inhaled medications is their fast onset when experiencing breathing difficulties. For my own life-long asthma i have found Advair to work the best for me. I have severe asthma that need both the long acting brochodialator as well as the corticosteriods found in Advair. I also use ventolin as a rescue inhalor when my lungs are tight and wheezy. If you have less severe asthma, just a maintenance dose of inhaled corticosteroids may be sufficient and ventolin when needed.
