What are the possible causes of pain below the waist and some problems walking?

I didn't know where to put this.

Various parts of my legs hurt and my legs feel tired/weak. It's hard walking, especially up the stairs, and it feels like they will give out. There's pain in my shins, calfs, thighs, and hamstrings. I also have pain in my knees and now I got hip pain.

Most of my symptoms started yesterday and made it hard for me to sleep. I didn't do any exercising yesterday. All I did was lean over something to do something and my legs started hurting. They felt as if I exercise by running up multiple stairs with a heavy backpack but not quite.

I had joint problems in the past and used to wear something for my knees. And some back and shoulder pain.

I'm a 20 year old female. I'm just curious as to why my legs hurt and why they feel tired. I'm not sure if I strained a muscle or several, or if it is something else, like fibromyalgia, tendinitis, etc.

Sounds like arthritis to me. I get all those sort of pains & was diagnosed with arthritis in September

I've always wondered if I had arthritis because I would have frequent joint pain, which would really hurt when it was cold. Unfortunately I was young and couldn't really get help or a diagnosis because of my age.

I don't know if I should wait and see if the pain continues or tell someone about it.

I think that I should also add that I have a grandmother with fibromyalgia and arthritis, and other family members with arthritis, and parents with diabetes. My pain could be connected to genetics plus other things.

I noticed that it's kind of difficult to lift things with my arm as they also feel tired, even something as small as a pill bottle.

Hi there. I 'd also advise a calcium and vitamin D check via a blood test, and please go to see your doctor. By the way, gentle massaging and stretching may help to release tension in the areas and increase the blood flow. Best of luck and Season's Greetings.

    Hi,

It could be caused by a lot of different things, but it might be worth asking your doc to check on your vitamin D levels as part of the investigations. Vitamin D deficiency can cause serious pain and weakness in muscles, fatigue, joint and bone pain throughout the body as the bones begin to soften (osteomalacia). You'll see that lots of us over on the Vitamin D deficiency boards have had symptoms very like yours. It's no joke, but if this is the cause, at least it is readily treatable.

    All best wishes.

    :-)

I ended up getting a low grade fever that only lasted for a night and now I have runny/stuffy nose. However I just found out that some pollen counts are really high, one of which I happened to be allergic to.

I'm going to look into Vitamin D deficiencies, as I might be deficit in a few things. I have eating problems.

Dang I should have mentioned this sooner. I have bipolar disorder so I have fluctuating energy levels. If I'm manic or hypomanic the tired feeling isn't too bad and I tend to ignore to pain. I do get really tired and I often wonder if I'm going into a depressive state or if it's something else.

I didn't feel tired but my body did.

I know this is an older thread but I have a lot of the symptoms you do and when I got my blood work done it showed presence of Autoimmune Disease. While there are many forms of this disease that overlap each other ( for example people with Celiac Disease tend to also exhibit Fibromyalgia) my Dr. believes that I have Lupus and Lupus tends to mimic other diseases. For example, I have symptoms of Celiac Disease where my body has an adverse reaction to anything w/ Gluten & MSG. I also have symptoms of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue & Arthritis. Since I was depressed and having fluctuations with energy it was assumed I had Bipolar Disorder. Come to find out, the latter also are symptoms of Lupus. I personally decided to wean myself of the bipolar medication and focus on changing to a gluten and MSG free diet and wow what a difference. I realized the reason for my fluctuating energy and depression was due to the diet & Lupus. Also, I went to get a 2nd opinion screening by a mental health professional -they didn't see any signs of certain mental health issues but probably my body was just reacting to the Autoimmune and to heavy stress, so it's something for anyone to check out with simple blood tests...Tests that specifically test for a presence of Autoimmune. ??

    Hi ae07242

Have you by chance gor any neck or spine problems. I have just found out that nearly all my vertebras in my spine as got a lot of arthritis in them. This gives me problems walking, pain, tingling and numbness in my legs as well as my arms and hips and back. The reason for this is because some of my vertebras are occasionally, pushing onto the nerves.

Saying that, it could be Fibromyalgia etc, but probably is Arthritis of sorts. I'm just sorry that someone of your age as got to put up with symptoms like this.

At the end of the day, you will not know for sure until you see your doctor. Let us know what happens.

All the best and I hope you had a great Christmas Day, even with the pain.

    Best of luck.

I didn't even know someone else replied to this.

I have some back pain but I can't tell if it's at the spine or not.

I will have to wait to see what causes it as I'm broke and I'm going to go to the nurses at my school.

Just an update in case other people have the same problem.

Turns out it was hypermobility, which I had suspected after doing a search on joint pain but no swelling and saw someone in a thread mentioned hypermobility and then looking at the symptoms. I was diagnosed a few months ago. Apparently I'm prone to injury and overworking my muscles. Who would have guessed?
