can someone help me understand what these spots are. i haven't been sexually active over 6+ months. recently started to notice them about 3-4 weeks ago. not sure where they came. could it be stress. hygiene has not been as it should have been but now after dealing with these spots, definitely have been keeping it clean.

They're likely to be molluscum contagiosum (Google), but your photos are all out of focus. It's a viral STD (not HPV or herpes) that's easily treated. You should see your doctor for a prescription and also get screened for other STDs, as should your ex-partner.
