What can I do anymore...

Living good 23 years. Reminding myself ''You're not sick. You should be glad your health is as as good as yours''. Those words doesn't apply to me anymore. Both body and mind feel sick of this ''cursed'' inflammation.

I just want to live as I used to. Walk freely without it hurting all the time. The more I get a a boil, the more I find myself closer to my my wits end. I'm starting to get more depressed than hurt from the boils, as they keep resurrecting.

Tried to deal with this all the ways possible. Antibacterial soap, antibiotica, tea tree oil and other medicals from the ''nurses'' handling me at those moments. Some people found removing certatin food from their diets to help them. I have tried this ''diet'' with including and excluding, with no results at all.

I'm available for surgery soon. Does it even work? Because I'm sick and tired of this. I don't know how longer

Try humeria. It worked for my husband. He had 3 boils under his armpits a month for 20 years and had to drain them himself and a few times we had to go to the hospital. Tried a cycle of humira for 6 months....its a little hard core. It took like 7 months to full kick in and he had 1 boil only in the last 2 years.

You may want to try Taltz if you have not tried that yet. I must say I saw good results within the first 3 months. Don’t get me wrong, I still have flare ups and my cysts are still there, but it’s so much better. I was draining so much and was in so much pain at one time it was horrible.  I definitely get where you’re coming from regarding the depression, because even though my HS has improved significantly and I’m taking this very, very expensive medication, I still have HS symptoms, just not as bad. I try to stay positive though because I’m sure there are people out there that are worse off than me. I hope everything works out for you!

    Hi Patient 08.

I feel for you. But I'm here to tell you there is hope.

I had HS for 15yrs and am in remission now.. I too had depression and anxiety, realized eventually that it fuelled more HS episodes.

Surgery gave short term relief, it's not a long term solution in my eyes.

HS is an autoimmune disorder. Something to rectify the underlying abnormal tendancy needs to be done.

For some ppl, diet changes can stop this inflammatory response. It didn't work for me.I tried all sorts of diets, but never could identify any trigger foods

Homeopathy (not toto be confused with naturopathy), stress reduction techniques, healthy diet and lifestyle have put me into remission.

Homeopathy has given me back my life. I'm 90% healed now. The extremely rare flares I have don't hurt much and resolve my themselves.

I had suffered for decades with HS.  Doctor referred me to dermatologist locally who passed me on to Birmingham hospital. This was in order to confirm that my condition was ‘bad enough’ to embark on the wonder drug Humira. Within days there was a massive improvement and I have got my life back. Insist that you are referred to a dermatologist  and then prescribed Humira.

I suffered with HS for 15 yrs. I'm in remission now, thanks to 'classical homeopathy' treatment . Was on this treatment for about 5yrs.

Antibiotics (tons of different types), Steroid shots, surgeries, 2 courses of accutane.... I have done it all. Everything provided temporary relief. In the long run, they made matters worse for me. My HS was out of control, back in 2011-12. I hit rock bottom.

I was so sick of this whole 'routine' or conventional protocol, that I decided to try something different. Classical Homeopathy with a very skilled Homeopathic dr was the game changer for me.

I tried diet changes too. Didnt help my HS much. But sticking to a vegetarian, organic, limited dairy & gluten diet helps keep the inflammatory tendency low. Even if it's not always obvious.

Mindfulness meditation and... from being a highly analytical person to a more spiritual one have helped in my healing too.

Hope this helps. Good luck! There is hope.....

I will share what has worked for me. I have had a severe case of what I believe is HS for the past 10 years. I was never diagnosed as I was too embarrassed to go to the doc, but afyer trying every snake oil remedy on the internet I decided to take matters into my own hands.

Over the past 3-4 years my thighs were so bad I would only wear black pants, as I would always have a boil actively draining. I live on the beach and was never even able to go because what if my shorts decided to ride up my thighs and people saw, even lost my boyfriend of 5 years bc I would refuse to have sex. I was tired of being in prison for something I had no control over. So I understand your frustrations. I felt compelled to come on here today to tell my story, and hopefully it can help someone else.

Since starting my current routine I've not had one single boil pop up in almost 6 months. With that said it took many weeks to get everything under control, and I still have really bad scarring but the pain is gone, and I bought my first pair of jeans recently!

So the first thing I did was throw away all body poufs, loofahs and started only using washrags, got rid of all scented soaps, and replaced my shower head with a high powered detachable one.

I bought hibiclens, and some alpha hydroxy face cream with 7.8% AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) it was $4 at Walgreens and lasts forever.

I started taking my washrags and towels to the laundromat and drying them in the very high heat dryers there to kill of all bacteria.

I started applying hibiclens in the shower and gently scrubbing each thigh for 3 mins each, and then let it sit in my thighs for 5 minutes before rinsing off with my shower head on the highest setting with warm water then rinsed with cold water for 1 minute. I did this morning and night without fail.

I feel like one of the things that I was doing in the past was scrubbing my thighs too hard, and making matters worse. So AHA was something that acts as a gentle exfoliator I make sure that I put it on immediately after the shower and within a week you could tell a difference in the texture of my skin.

Ive tried it all before, and I even tried hibiclens and all of the other anti bacterial soaps with no success but what I think does the trick is leaving it on your skin and giving it time to sink in and do its job, and also being consistent.
