What can i expect after coming off amitriptyline after having serotonin syndrome?

Posted , 4 users are following.

The whole time I've been on amitriptyline I've had low level serotonin syndrome except twice. I ended up in the ER then. At the time my dose had been doubled. Another time, another serotonin type med was added.Symptoms have been insomnia, high blood pressure, racing heart, dizziness, jerking muscles. The low level symptoms fo over a year have been severe insomnia, anxiety, pulse racing and high blood pressure. Will i withdrawal? What can i expect? I've always had the opposite symptoms than everyone else. It's like a paradoxical reaction.

You may find some withdrawal symptoms, look on the sheet of paper in the medication box, you may get feedback there. However we are all different. I vary my dose on a regular basis between 50/75mg  and have no real problems.

What you are suffering now is related to your Anxiety,

Regards now, if you are approaching your GP to come of this medication , fine your GP will help you. Again I will say dose rate between 10mg-50mg are low doses, You will need to come of your medication in a positive way, I find that not considering or worrying about withdrawal is the best way. To look at a problem that may not happen is counterproductive. If you go into something anticipate problems you will have them.

When I was at Pain Clinic, we needed to accept sometimes, pssible problems all we did was backtrack then start again
