Hi,
I'd like you to fill in this form:
- IOL brand and type
- Age (optional)
- Max pupil size at night (approx.)
- Pupil size after pupil-dilating drops application
and (most important) can you see any Postivie Dysphtopsias, like starburst, halos, ferris-wheel shapes in either case?
Thank you, I'd appreciate it.

I thought about your question about pupil size and optical issues after dilation drops a bit longer. I don't really know what happens as I have not had dilation drops since my cataract surgery in each eye. The optometrist I go to does not do a dilated exam and instead takes a high resolution photograph without dilation. I am diabetic and part of my annual eye exam is a check for diabetic retinopathy. The photograph method is a good way to check for any changes to the retina. I used to go to a retina specialist and his method was to manually draw the blood vessels and keep a paper trail of where I was at. He finally told me that I was wasting my time (and of course his) seeing him and I should see a optometrist instead. I went to one that uses the photo method.
.
So while I had some dilated exams in preparation for cataract surgery, I have not had any since, and really can't comment on what happens.

I have an AcrySof IQ monofocal in my right eye set for distance (0.00 D sphere, -0.50 D cylinder). My left is targeted as the near eye in a mini-monovision configuration with a Clareon monofocal (-1.0 D sphere, -0.75 D cylinder).
.
I am 73 and not really sure what my pupil sizes are. I would guess I am about 3-4 mm for pupil diameter due to my age.
.
In my right eye (AcrySof IQ) which has been implanted the longest I do have a very occasional positive dysphotopsia effect. There is nothing persistent, and is just a flash when it is very dark and there is a point source of bright light off to my left. I'm sure it is the light hitting the edge of the lens. But, it is more of a curiosity than any kind of vision impairment. So far, no similar effect in my left eye.
.
I don't recall seeing anything like this when my eyes are dilated with drops.
