What condition may cause lesions in brain to disappear?

Hi all

I know lesions in MS can disappear, but is there any other conditions in which lesions disappear? And what can be the cause of this?

My son had two lesions in his midbrain (symmetrical/bilateral) that had disappeared on his next MRI about a year after. He has a diagnosis involving gene mutations, which the lab regards as "probably pathogenic". However, we're still uncertain about it, one of the reasons being the lesions in the brain.

There must be some inflammatory process going on in the brain seeing as these lesions disappeared, right?
