What contraception is safe with Raynaud's?

I was diagnosed with raynauds about 2 years ago, I've been to a specialist twice and they still don't know if its primary or secondary and keep running tests on me. Recently I was told to stop taking the contraceptive pill as it may be making my raynauds worse, so I was wondering what other methods I could use that wouldn't effect it, I've been looking into the coil and the implant (more toward the implant) but can't find any information on its affects on raynauds or if they even have any? thank you for taking the time to read this.

It's actually a conversation I've not had with my Gp or any health professional even though I suffer from Raynauds. I'm on the depo injection - it seems to work well for me and has no adverse side effects (occasionally a sore bum for a day), don't know if you've looked into that as a possible option, but it works for me :-)

I'm a UK pharmacist interested in Raynaud's, as I am currently trying to develop a new treatment for it. To answer your question, usually implants are considered the most effective and safe contraception method out there, as the drug is released locally in uterus and the majority of it stays there. This means that there will be less side effects with an implant than with e.g. a pill/injection, because the drug from a pill circulates all over your body. So for Raynaud's implant is your best option. I know of two brands: Jaydess and Mirena. First usually used by females who did not give birth, second used by females who already did. Have a read about these products on manufacturer's website and talk to doctors in GUM clinic (try even over the phone maybe) to see if such product is for you. Hope this helps. Good luck
