What could be causing this dizziness?

Hi everyone, I came here about a week ago in fears of a brain tumor, today, I received my MRI and did an EEG and thank god, everything came back negative and in that department, im fine. However, im still suffering from dizziness all day, and vertigo sometimes when I lay down. I also get migraines with pain back in the back of my eyes and with head pressure in random spots of my head. Does anyone go through this as well? What other options is there for me to clear to get rid of this?
Its honestly depressing living like this, being dizzy sucks and its almost crippling as im sure many of you guys can relate with.. Any suggestions would be helpful so I can inquire about them with my doctor

Have you been seen by an ENT? On U Tube there are easy Vestibular home Exercises that May Help with your vertigo . I still do mine everyday but only 30 sec. Two time a day.
Did they give you anything for the vertigo?
I also have Physical Therapy two time a week and it has helped a great deal, I have had a few good weeks since I started so try and stay positive.
Hope you feel better.☺

Hi Angie,
I plan on getting a referral to an ENT this wednesday when I visit my doctor again. As for vertigo, my neurologist gave me low doses of valium to treat my anxiety, vertigo, dizziness, and also panic attacks.(I had one at night because I thought I was dying from a brain tumor)
Ill definetely check out the YouTube videos, thanks for the recommendation! Hope you're getting better as well if not already good!!

Hello,
I, too, have experienced what you have. For me it started May 2015 with terrible headaches all day long, and then the dizziness/vertigo kicked in. It's been a long, ugly road, extremely dibillitating, but what I can say is that I am now seeing periods of relief and can only pray that I will see more better days ahead. I tried vestibular testing with no true concrete answer to my ills. I am now left with a diagnosis of vestibular migraines. Stress and weather are my triggers. Surprising how stress can affect you, no matter how much you think you have it under control. I hope you feel better soon, try not to get too discouraged and believe in better days ahead.

Thats crazy.. I feel like we have EXACTLY the same problems.. I remember in the summer time, I would feel dizzy for a couple of days but never thought of it as anything serious since it would go away in a couple of days.. then I realized I only felt that way when it was extremely humid out. Now im feeling the symptoms again.. and its probably not a coincidence that i've been studying my butt off for midterms and dealing with all these extremely tough classes in my senior year of college..

Actually, just now my daughter texted me saying she had to get out of her lecture fast cuz she was so dizzy she thought she was going to pass out. She's away to university and is cramming for tests/exams, and like you, misses meals cuz she wants to cram it all in and get a good mark. Like my neurologist said, tension in ur head is like a big band that is being pulled really tightly, which causes pain and this tightness of muscles around ur head and ears plays havoc with ur vestibular system. Taking over the counter headache pain relief drugs can cause a rebound effect, creating more headaches, a vicious cycle. Missing meals is another big trigger for headaches. Valium is really effective to calm you but super addictive, I am surprised he prescribed that. Unless he is giving u a short supply to get u thru ur studies right now. Good luck with ur midterms, hope this will be over soon for you.

Like you i have pretty much the same issues daily which are:
- Dizziness (more like feeling of imbalance)
- Headaches (pressure in both/either side of temples)
- Cricipharangeal Spasm (wax and wane)
I have been having these for almost a month now and i've seen 10 doctors and none are able to pin point the exact cause. From some comments here i've read that it might be an inner ear problem which an ENT which i saw says they look fine (i dont get any ear issues other than the occasional blocked hearing like you get from swimming).
Im at wits end and have spent a fortune on consultation fees.

Thanks for the YouTube tip. I'll definitely search for the exercise once I get home.
As for your symptoms, do you have headaches as well?
What tests have you done so far?

Headaches arent too much of a problem for me, i've been dealing with them my whole life so I really never counted it as a symptom for it. But my migraines includes pain behind my eyes, and head pressure/throbbing literally all over my head. Like one day it will be on top of my scalp, the next day itll be on the back of my head, side etc.
For my tests, im a huge hypochondriac so I was freaking out thinking I had a brain tumor, I demanded a MRI from my neurologist and had that done today, thank god he said im clear from a tumor or anything drastic like that. Also did an EEG to check how the activity level was going on in my brain. Once I was clear from anything life threatening, it was a huge relief and I felt almost better immediately.

I also meant "my dizziness isnt the type where i CANT walk" in my last reply. So if im not mistaking, we got very similar symptoms. It shouldnt be anything serious, most likely an ear infection as other people said

It's not an infection as such. More a virus that attacked the inner ear :-)

Thanks for the reply.
My headaches are mostly at the temples and sometimes at the back of my head as well.
I'm a hypochondriac too which got my primary care physician to referred me to a psychologist just because he isn't able to pinpoint the cause but I'm not blaming him.
Like you I was super scared of having a brain tumor so I did an MRI last week. While waiting for the results, I scoured the Internet on how to interpret the images (the kind radiographer gave copies to me) and I got more afraid but when I collected the results the radiologist said my MRI looks fine.
What medication are you on now?

U can put it on ur temples or even ur feet haha. Gets absorbed in the blood stream so doesn't matter where u put it :-)

I just had my MRI yesterday actually, didnt get the official report, but I gave my neurologist the CD and he checked it out for me, told me he understood and knew how to read the report and said I was fine. Hopefully thats the case when the "official" results come back as well.
Also, my neurologist referred me to a phychologist as well because he thinks that my negative MRI results just goes to show my symptoms are from anxiety. As for medication, the neurologist prescribed me Valium to reduce anxiety, vertigo, dizziness, etc, but im not taking it either since ive been feeling good the whole day after him telling me my MRI looks negative.

Haha I know that feeling when you get the "all clear" but it was shortlived for me.
I was feeling okay when I got the results but I got a terriblw headache the next day.
