What could it be?

Hello,

I had high risk sex act over 3 months ago. I gave unprotected oral sex to sex worker and then had protected anal sex. Condom didn't break.

I had slight discomfort the next morning and the following week. I waited time to pass to go see urologist and get tested.

6 days after: urologist took urine sample and chlamydia + gonorrhea test. Came up negative, but gave me azithromycin 1g (once) and doxycycline for one week two times a day.

Week 2-3: During antibiotics all itching and discomfort dissapeared.

Week 4: Itching/discomfort became now and then.

6 weeks from sex contact:

Slight flu came up, no fever etc. but running nose and sore throat for few days. Genital itching/discomfort. Went to STI clinic to test syphilis and HIV. Both negative.

8 weeks from the sex contact:

There appeared many ulcers to my gums, which lasted for about a week. Genital discomfort came back now and then, feeling itchy/discomfort, but no sores or anything visible.

After 3 months: I am still having discomfort/itching now and then. Also, penile pain on the shaft, especially a while after urination or sitting longer period of time. Pain can feel sharp sometimes, but is usually very short.

In addition, my penis tend to be quite dry and pulling the foreskin back is not quite as easy as it used to be.

In the last few days, I have felt more itchy/discomfort, but I have not developed any visible sores/bumps. The symptoms tend to be present only short period of time.

My new sex partner, who tends to be clean have developed like mosquito bites (6-10) around her body within this week . Bumps that appears randomly and are itchy and then dissapears. One bump in the chaw, two in forehead, one near genitals, few to back etc.

Does this sound like STI or something else? Your answer is much appreciated!

I was thinking the possible STDs that I could have:

    • Herpes (HSV1 or HSV2)

However, HSV2 transmission to mouth is possible, but not very likely, especially when there is no sores visible.

HSV1 transmission could have happened to my genitals, because the sex worker performed unprotected oral to my genitals shortly. However, the itching would be feeling for certain amount of time and probably in the certain spot? Now it is very hard for me to say which part of my genitals is itching. Ulcers that appeared on my gums are pointing towards HSV infection. I understand if I have had oral HSV infection, but why are my genitals itching then?

    • Gonorrhea

I have tested negative. In addition, I do not have discharge etc.

    • HPV

Could be, but I do not have any visible warts.

    • HIV

Transmission is not very likely orally.

    Chlamydia

I have tested negative and transmission is not very likely orally.

HSV 2 rarely infects the mouth. So getting it through oral sex is pretty much rare.

The possibility of HSV 1 is there but if you already have it orally then it is rare to get it genitally too.

Ulcers on Gums are never due to HSV .

HSV causes sores on the outside of the lips.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I guess you are right. I had many ulcers in my gums, at least 6, but maybe it was herpetic form of mouth ulcers and not the HSV.

I don't know, if I have had the HSV1 before or not, at least I am sure that I never had an outbreak.

Now it seems that it is not HSV, but something else. Today for the first time, over three months after the potential infection, I saw slight amount of white sticky discharge after gym.

However, it is strange, because I have tested negative for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia 6 days after the sex contact. How likely it is to have false negative or is testing after 6 full days too early? In addition, I have had and completed the azithromycin and doxycycline medicines.

Tomorrow I will be heading to STI clinic to get tested. I'll keep you updated.

Still waiting my results, but I should get them next week. I have this rash on my penis, could all of this be caused by yeast infection? what does this looks like?

6 days is pretty accurate test.

      Azithromycin doesn't treat Gonorrhea.

Chlamydia is already taken care of with the antibiotics you have taken.

Results came up negative for: chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, hepatitis B, and trichomoniasis. This definitely brings some relief for my anxiety that has been going on and off for over three months.

However, my doctor said that he don't know what is causing the rash and will contact STI specialist that will probably provide antibiotics for yeast infection (thrush).

Doctor was quite sure this is not caused by the HSV, since "symptoms would be worse". However, many sources from internet highlights that symptoms could be milder as well. So, who to believe again..

it seems I have something similar, I have been trying to figure this out for over one year now, I have been to a go, a urologist a clinic and a natureopathic and still no solid results? Wondering if I could be HPV related? Since that seems to be hard to determine and Men. I have a few other symptoms though, constant fatigue and numbness and burning in feet I know some of these symptoms match up with HSV but I have tested negative multiple times?
