What could this be?!

hi all,

For the past 5-6 days I had instant constipation with no pain at all from a takeaway. I've eaten loads of fibre and hardly anything is happening I'd be lucky if its half a stool or it would be a really sloppy stool and that's it and even then it is a struggle for me to poo. I also have a lot of itching around my anus which I think is piles or hemorrhoid. I have had NO blood or pain anywhere in my rectum or bowel. Could this be a really confusing constipation or something else. I am quite worried due to this never happening before and that I can poo but then not get anything else out.

Please help ! I do have IBS!

have you ever had a colonoscopy done? if thats how u spell it but i was diagnosed with ibs and i have been having the itchy butt too and very constipated, sometimes loose stool but i cant tell the difference because i no longer have a gallbladder so it makes it hard for me to digest fats n greasy food. did you maybe change your diet recently? you should speak with ur dr if you are concern.

no i haven't had one before i may go see a doctor tomorrow and see what they can do. its just weird because of no pain and no other symptoms.

stress and anxiety also can cause IBS flares, don't know if you've experienced any of that.

well thats probably what's going on. That was what my gastroentrologist thought was my main trigger, there is something called the mind-gut connection.

actually i guess its called the gut brain connection.

    UPDATE!

basically just been to the toilet I had a laxitive before hand and it was still hard to push out. basically i get all the motions of it coming and then it gets to my rectum and i really have to push it feels like it gets stuck somehow if that makes sense. Could it be the hemorrhoid?!

only advice i can give is ask to see a specialist that deal with digestive problem and ask for a scope done especially when u have a flare up, it can be hemorrhoid or just ibs but they did see i have hemorrhoids after i got the scope.

You don't need to consult your doctor about taking a laxative. I took a laxative when I was constipated with IBS without checking with my doctor. You only need to see your doctor if your constipation persists despite laxatives.

Pippa can you have constipation without pain?

Also I've had 4 laxidos about 9 hours ago and it's started working. But I can only poop a little bit and then cant go anymore.

i just said that because I'm not a doctor,so I cant tell him what his doctor would.

It depends how long you are constipated for whether or not you get pain. There is no definite answer. Obviously, the longer you are constipated, the more likely you will get pain and other symptoms. It depends on the individual and severity of the constipation. Sometimes I have had pain with it and other times I haven't. The best thing to do is to treat the constipation as early as possible to reduce the likelihood of pain.

The bowel can take a while to get back to normal function after constipation.Persevere with the laxative and be happy with small amounts of stool to start with; that's still progress. It won't resolve all at once. I learned to be happy with passing very little stool at first; it's better than nothing. Once you start to get loose stools, ease off the laxatives and move onto fruit to keep the bowel moving. Introduce fruit slowly to get the right amount for you to restart your bowel. For a while, my bowel would only work when taking oranges If I stopped fruit, my bowel would gradually stop working.

Remember, you bowel will fluctuate between constipation and normal with IBS. Sometimes you might get a period of loose stools or diarrhoea. IBS is functional so will not show on a colonoscopy. A colonoscopy only detects structural problems with the bowel.
