Been referred for a ct & to see a neck lump specialist. I've been unwell for months- extreme fatigue, itchiness, headaches, bone pain, a cough that feels like someones tickling inside my throat, constipated at times (tmi sorry!), and although I'm still eating fine I'm having to make my self eat at times because my appetite aint good at all these past 2 weeks, lost weight... Was 8stone 4 about 4 months ago, and I'm now 7 stone 6. So I know this may seam like one of these possibly annoying posts where someones a bit of a worrier or something.. But I ain't worried or being a hypochondriac promise lol. I have a lump in my neck about 4cm the gp said when he felt it last week not sure if thats upsy ways or sidey ways. Was about the size of a marble in February when I noticed it it's grown a fair bit I suppose... My lymph nodes are swollen around my head and ears, and feel-able in my groin but I'm assuming that's because I'm rather under weight for my height now. Basically there's a few things that are concerning me 1. my gp now seems concerned 2. how I was told I'd be seen in 2 weeks.. 2 weeks? nhs? when does that happen lol. 3. the gp is usually quit rushed and deosn't like me (situation not to do with myself) but seemed to have so much time for me and was really nice during my last appointment. 4. Called neck lump 'mass' then corrected. 5. Everything else seems to have been ruled out. 6. Neck lump specialist? what even is that? 7. Done a silly billy thing & googled was at my wits end.. What came up was lymphoma. I doubt it like... But a friend of my mums had this or something similar and had some of the same problems if I remember right. Sorry for dragging on! What I want to know is can it be something else? Is there another problem my symptoms can fit into? Is there a normal cause of lumps and swollen nodes? Really I'm just looking for another possible cause of all this that aint cancer so that I dont start to worry... Don't like worry lol. I'm an optimist and a cheery lil person I need.. I dont know like something that it could be? So I can just think 'Oh it's just super long lasting bug it'll pass soon'. Sorry I sound insane I know my heads a bit wibbly now I starting to worry. Sorry for the going on and if this offends anyone or anything, and thanks to anyone who does reply

Tom here. I've read your post and I can relate to a lot of it.
I'm a 28 year old guy, quite slim, 10 and a half stone, 6 foot tall. I've had swollen lymph nodes all over my body for about 10 years now. They've grown slightly in that time, tha largest is probably 3 centre metres in my neck. I've had 3 ultrasound scans, neck and abdomen, about a dozen blood tests and seen about 6 doctors or consultants. The last one in saw said there is less than 1% chance of cancer and they aren't concerned. I'm going back to the hospital in 2 weeks for another check up. My first test was a year and a half ago and I'm nowhere closer to an answer. Frustrating!
Anyway, your symptoms sound similar to mine in some ways. There are other conditions that cause this, and they're hard to diagnose. Lupus is one condition that effects the immune system and can cause swollen nodes. It also causes high temperature, tiredness, skin rashes and sensitivity to light. Try not to worry. I know it's hard an dim going through the same concerns but talk to people and tell them what's going on. It'll help to have people's thoughts an support. The chances are very very very unlikely that it is cancer. The odds are even longer than winning the lottery. Until you know anything for certain do not assume anything. The human bodies are strange things and nothing is straightforward. Anyway maybe we can talk more and help offer each other some reassurance and comfort. Yeah the way I look at it is I've seen 6 consultants or doctors and none are really concerned but it still doesn't give you an answer haha.
An old work colleague of mine has lymphoma and it showed it straight away in her blood test so it'd a good thing our blood tests showed nothing wrong. All she had was a couple of swollen glands and was a bit warm on a night. She's better now been clear for 4 years. Anyway let me know how your appointment goes on here! And keep being cheery and positive

I can't believe they said they aren't sure if it's meant to be there or not. That's their job to know! I'm still waiting for my next hospital appointment which is this week coming.
I'm going to try and push them to arrange a biopsy as it's the most definitive test their is. Trying to enjoy my weekend and not think about it too much!
You could always ring up the consultants office if you're really worried and push for something sooner or more tests. Otherwise try not to worry too much ellie
