what could this brown smudge on white of my eye be

Hi, my wife just noticed this smudge on my eye anyone any ideas?

im a 48 yo white male

    I think you should go and see your Optometrist, who can examine your eye and refer you to an Ophthalmologist if necessary.  It could be nothing but there is a remote possibility that it could be something serious.

      Hi

      thanks for the speedy response, seeing the doc tomorrow and I'll update the post to let all know what it is (or what the quack thinks it might be)

      Doc thinks its pigmentation changes due to the side effects of taking hydroxychloriquinine for my arthritis, so nothing sinister - may be permanent but needs to be moitored and possibly a medication change if it gets worse.
